Volunteer to support the Special Olympics National Games

Football Victoria is partnering with Special Olympics Australia to support their 2026 National Games, a national tournament bringing together athletes with intellectual disability and/or autism from across Australia.

The Games will be held in Melbourne from 19–23 October 2026, with the Football event taking place at JL Murphy Reserve, Port Melbourne.

Volunteers can support with:

• Assisting with sporting competitions
• Referring, Judging, adjudicating at your selected sport
• Preparing and supporting medal ceremonies
• Transport and logistics support
• Media liaison and content production (writing, photography and videography)
• Scoring and results coordination at the National Games

People aged 16 and over can volunteer. All volunteers will complete online induction and safeguarding training. Volunteers aged 18 and over will also need a valid Working with Children Check.
