Melbourne City Powerchair Team are looking for new players!

Powerchair Football is a competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for powerchair / electric wheelchair users. These participants include persons with quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, head trauma, stroke, spinal cord injury and other disabilities. No experience is required, all ages and genders are welcome.
We have spare equipment waiting for new players, including specialised football chairs or we can fit ‘bumpers’ to standard day chairs. You can try powerchair football before deciding if you want to compete.

Powerchair Football combines the skill of the wheelchair user with the speed and power of the chair itself. The sport is played on an indoor basketball court. Two teams of four power chair users attack, defend, and spin-kick a 13-inch (33cm) soccer ball in an attempt to score goals.

The Competition

Powerchair Sports Victoria (PSV) runs the Premier League which hosts clubs that are aligned with A-league and NPL clubs in Victoria. Melbourne City compete against other clubs during the football season which includes South Melbourne and Western United.
The competition is run weekly in Parkville and also features a development squad and Division 2 League.
