Welcome to the Game Swim Broadmeadows
Overview
A free 10-week inclusive swim program focusing on water safety, confidence and enjoyment. This is a specialised program designed to include and support people from refugee and migrant backgrounds with disabilities, autism, psychosocial challenges, and additional support needs to increase their physical activity levels, make social connections and develop water safety and familiarisation skills.

Day: Fridays
Time: 4.30 PM - 7.30 PM
Dates: Friday April 19th – Friday June 21st
Location: Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre
End of program graduation/celebration event will be held on:
Saturday June 29th 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Program provides:
- Small Group Sessions max 3 students per class
- 30 min session slots allocated between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM
- Classes allocated based on individual needs, ability, experience, eligibility etc.
- Trauma-informed/healing-centred approach
- Parents/support workers encouraged to actively support participation as required.
Note: Parents and carers of Welcome to the Game Participants may also be supported to access mainstream day-time classes for a kick-start period at the centre.
Program Capacity - The program is limited. Allocated depending on individual support needs, availability and lesson participation compatibility with other students.
This program is for:
- Born overseas or has a parent born overseas or speaks a language other than English at home
- Identifies with having a disability/autism/psychosocial challenges/additional support needs
- Is between 5 and 25 years old
* Priority place allocation for children and young people within the Welcome to the Game target cohort
* formal diagnosis not required
