Path Access

- Paths are wide, smooth, and easy to use.
- The lakeside and Queens Avenue paths are sealed.
- The main path through the Gardens is wide and made of firm gravel.
- There are no steps on the main route shown on the map.
- Some paths change from concrete to gravel, which may create small bumps.
The paths are wide enough for wheelchairs and for people to travel side by side. Shorter routes can be accessed from the car parks. Mobile phone coverage is available throughout the area.
There is one ramp where the path crosses the road.
Jetties
- The jetties are narrow.
- Some boardwalks have wide gaps and no handrails.
- The small jetty in the middle of the lake is not considered safe.
Rest Areas
- There are sandy beaches, grassy areas, and gardens to enjoy.
- Seats are located along the walk.
- Some seats have armrests.
- Some seats are connected directly to the path for easier access.
Picnic Facilities
- BBQs and picnic tables are available.
- Some are next to the path, while others are across grassed areas.
- A shaded gazebo is available, but it can only be reached by steps.
- A coffee van is located at the lakeside car park.
Botanical Gardens
- Trees provide plenty of shade.
- A café and shelter are available.
- The playground includes a Liberty Swing.
- A viewing platform offers views across the lake.
Facilities
- An accessible toilet is located at the start of the walk and can be reached by a concrete path.

Dogs and Cyclists
- Dogs must be kept on a leash.
- Cyclists can use some of the paths.
Public Transport
- Bus Route 2 stops on Queens Avenue and Fyans Street near the Gardens.
- Some bus stops have seating.
Parking
- There are six parking areas along the walk.
- These areas provide space for drop-off and pick-up.
- Parking surfaces are wide, firm, and level.
- All car parks connect to the walk by ramps or level access.
- One accessible parking space is located near the main Gardens entrance.
