SPORT FOR FUN ONLINE

Over this current lockdown, Interchange Outer East have had heaps of fun and some awesome special guests at their Sport for Fun online sessions.

Last week’s special guest was Kaine Sheppard from the Newcastle Jets and most recently Western United FC. Kaine has also founded the KS Foundation which has worked with A-League clubs and the Matildas to provide sensory rooms at games so people who may feel overwhelmed can have a safe space to watch the soccer. Kaine has also been involved in running soccer sessions with local clubs, particularly for people with Autism.

They also had basketballer Mitch Creek. Mitch plays for South East Melbourne Phoenix and has played for the Australian Boomers. He helped with exercises and cheered for us all doing our best at home in our backyards or lounge rooms. The feedback from this session was amazing and everyone was so excited that Mitch came to the session.

Most recently, the group got into the spirit with a Paralympics/Olympics theme, using a Paralympian's workouts on youtube as a basis and did quite a bit of seated work to get our bodies moving.
