Cost: $5 per week + registration
What is the All Stars program?
The Osborne All Stars is an after school netball program open to children of all abilities aged 7-17. Osborne All Stars is an opportunity for children to learn how to play netball, make new friends and be part of a vibrant, inclusive and supportive sporting community. With small group numbers (capped at 2-6 children per group) we aim to keep the training environment as sensory friendly as possible. We take a flexible approach and focus on celebrating meaningful participation, whatever that may look like for the players on any particular day.
Children who may not have a formal diagnosis but require additional support (e.g., sensory, emotional, social or communication) are always welcome. The program may also suit children that have no prior experience of netball who need to build their confidence before joining a team.
Our Osborne All Stars are supported on and off court by their Coach. We also run a buddy program for our experienced junior players who make a commitment to come along each week and join our Osborne All Stars to foster new friendships.
Why did we start All Stars?
Osborne Netball Club is already fortunate to support a number of players with disabilities in our mainstream junior teams. By fostering strong connections with their parents and carers, we have identified that there is a real need, not only for the child with a disability but for their families to experience the joy of watching their child participate in a sport and seeing them thrive as part of their local sports community. We are grateful to Mt Martha Community Bank for their generous support in developing the All Stars Program.
What is our goal for the All Stars?
Osborne All Stars is a newly created program launched in early 2023, Osborne Netball Club is proud to be the first Mornington Peninsula based club to introduce all abilities netball to our community. Our current goal for the Osborne All Stars program is to build the children’s confidence on court so that they can play their first netball game alongside one of our club’s junior teams. We will also support our Osborne All Stars to transition into our mainstream junior teams when they feel the time is right for them.
