All Abilities Netball - Manningham
Overview
Started in March 2015, our All Abilities Netball Program lets everyone in our community learn to play netball, make friends, and be part of the inclusive sporting group at Manningham. You don't need any experience to join. It's open to all ages and genders.
An All-Abilities Netball Program began at Doncaster and Districts Netball Association in July 2015 when clinics were held for ‘all abilities’ participants to learn how to play netball, make new friends and be part of a vibrant and supportive sporting community. As the number of players increased, a weekly competition developed.
All Abilities Netball Program
The program, consisting of two parts, runs alongside the Manningham Netball mainstream competition on Saturday mornings and games are played in two seasons, Autumn and Spring. The first part is devoted to warm up and skills sessions at 10.00am. The second part is competition games commencing at 11.00am.
The players are supported both on court and off court by members of the All-Abilities Committee, volunteer coaches from clubs within the Association, past players from our clubs who wish to give back to the Association and specialist umpires. All of our personnel hold current Working with Children Checks and it is our focus to create a safe and positive environment for everyone participating in the All-Abilities program.
No previous experience is required to join, and the competition is open to all ages, both males and females.
The players have also had the opportunity to play against other Associations’ All Abilities teams at tournaments and some have also represented the Chisholm Region at State Titles Championships. As the competition has evolved, the players have also had the opportunity to compete against other Associations on a regular basis.
